Until March 2020, Anne van Mourik MA worked together with Peter Romijn and Remco Raben on the research project about the ways politicians and colonial administrators dealt with large-scale violence. From 2017 to 2018 she was also a communications officer for the Independence, Decolonization, Violence and War in Indonesia 1945-1950 programme

She studied International Relations in Historical Perspective at Utrecht University and Media & War and Genocide Studies at Deakin University in Melbourne. Previously, she worked as a researcher at Leiden University and as a research assistant at the NIOD investigating the role of the Dutch Red Cross in the Second World War.

Anne is currently a PhD-candidate (NIOD and University of Amsterdam) working on her dissertation on conflicting legacies of hunger in Germany in the context of  the First and Second World War. She also produces the NIOD Rewind podcast.
